Anna Mąkowska

Polish Patent Attorney

Graduated with honors in Material engineering at the Faculty of Advanced Technologies and Chemistry of the Military University of Technology with the profile Functional materials. She finalized her studies with an individual curriculum in the field of Non-telecommunication applications of optical fibres.
She continued her education in Applied physics at the Faculty of Physics of the Warsaw University of Technology. She graduated as M.Sc. Eng. with honors.
In 2014-2018 she was a project manager of a Diamond Grant financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. She gained a scholarship from the Minister of Science and Higher Education and in the START programme financed by Foundation for Polish Science.
In 2013-2020 she worked in the R&D companies combining the duties of R&D Senior Engineer and Intellectual Property Specialist. She is a co-author of a dozen patent applications as well as scientific publications concerning issues related to guiding of light.
She is experienced in managing the intellectual property portfolio, developing intellectual property protection strategies as well as in conducting the workshops in the scope of IP, including practical aspects of trade-secret protection and building culture of nurturing know-how.
Since 2017 she has been taking part in a patent attorney trainee course organized by the Polish Chamber of Patent and Trademark Attorneys, she has passed the exam and 2020 and has been entered entered on a list of Polish Patent Attorneys. Since 2018 she has been gaining the practice necessary to take the European Qualifying Examination (EQE) enabling to represent before European Patent Office (EPO).
Apart from the interests directly related to her education, she is interested in contemporary art, graphic design and industrial design, as well as application of design thinking in various aspects of intellectual property.
